FC Porto Join Europe’s Elite After Perfect Start to the Season

After beating Benfica 3-1 at home, FC Porto have joined a select group of clubs across Europe’s top 20 leagues who have won every league game so far this season. Farioli’s side are one of just five teams to have a perfect record.

The Dragons have won all seven of their matches in the Portuguese top flight, giving them 21 points and first place in the table. They are currently five points ahead of Benfica and six clear of Sporting.

According to Playmaker, only Barcelona have matched Porto’s seven wins from seven games among the teams in Europe’s leading leagues. Manchester City and Panathinaikos have five wins each, while Borussia Dortmund have four.

Porto’s perfect start also matches their record from last season, when their winning run was finally stopped by Benfica. The two sides drew 0-0 at the Estádio do Dragão.
